JOB SUMMARY: Day-to-day contact for customer on order acceptance, order maintenance and accessorial management. Depending on the need of the team, the Account Management Specialist may have more focused responsibilities, specializing in one or more of the job functions listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work with Account Manager and Operations group to address and resolve single load concerns in a timely manner Communicate with shipper and consignee contacts regarding exception notification and problem resolution Determine which accessorial charges can be billed, invoice the accessorials and effectively communicate charges to customer contacts and/or Account Manager Work with Account Manager on solutions to reduce accessorial charges Manage daily load acceptance allocations for customers Ensure complete and accurate customer order acceptance/entry into the Hub system via EDI, web tender, email, fax, phone or other applicable form of communication Determine if a customer's freight is acceptable for intermodal movement and provide alternative transportation solutions where applicable Manage and execute customer appointment setting process via website, email, phone or fax Work with customers and internal departments to strategically manage appointments to improve profitability, driver utilization and on time performance Develop a strong understanding of rail transit, rail cut-offs and rail availability in order to improve efficiencies of the appointment process Release and correct orders on invoice hold Work with Pricing team to address individual load pricing discrepancies Provide timely escalation of issues to management Assist Account Manager with customer communication and strategy Complete or assist with miscellaneous projects as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required Experience in the transportation industry is preferred but not required Excellent oral communication, written communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as proven analytical ability Proficiency with MS Office software Occasional travel will be required
