Typical duties include, but are not limited to the following: Under the direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, the Plumber II (CF) provides services for the maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of the institution's plumbing systems, completes assignments in maintenance, installation, and repair of plumbing systems and equipment. The incumbent will prepare purchase requests, receive supplies, maintain inventories and records, maintain tool, material, and security control programs, determine cost and time-frame estimates to complete each job. Persons appointed to positions in this class must be reasonably expected to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising their health and well-being or that of their fellow employees or that of inmates.

Supervises inmates and performs inmate timekeeping tasks.

Maintain security of working areas and work materials. Maintains order, prevents escapes and injury, and supervises the conduct of persons committed to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

WHO MAY APPLY:

You must have taken the Plumber II (Correctional Facility) EXAM or have other civil service appointment eligibility such as transfer, reinstatement, etc. (Minimum Qualifications for the classification must be met).
