I. Major Function

The Sales Coordinator supports the Sales and Account Managers by providing assistance for both internal & external customers in the group and extended stay markets. This position's primary sales functions are facilitated via inside sales modes.

II. Major Responsibilities

Perform inventory search of hotel availability based on customer requests. Negotiate and leverage customer's need, acting as a liaison for National Group Sales, hotels and customers. Secure most accurate match of Marriott product to the customer's physical and financial needs. Match hotel need dates with customer's needs -- ensure an offering to each customer Processes all leads in a timely manner. Monitors, updates and communicates lead status to appropriate parties. Establish and maintain complete and up-to-date lead response information in SFA to ensure accurate reporting. Complete lead entry of customer opportunities as requested by manager. Provide coverage for Managers when needed, including assisting with customer needs, lead entry and any additional duties as requested. Maintains open communication with managers, properties, RSO's, and markets as needed regarding lead status. Assists in closing on business to ensure team and departmental goals are met. Run and organize necessary SFA reports as requested. Compose and update response grids and customer communications whenever necessary. Complete other projects and reports as assigned. Assist with additional office coverage whenever necessary. Responsible for assuming additional reasonable responsibilities as requested by management.

Sales Proficiency

Demonstrates selling skills e.g. objectives, benefits, features.

Relates customer needs to product capabilities. Is creative in working with hotels/RSOs for find appropriate fit for business.

Job Summary

Perform general office duties to support Sales & Marketing (e.g., filing, sending emails, typing, faxing, copying). Prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, or banquet event orders). Promote awareness of brand image internally and externally. Gather materials and assemble information packages (e.g., brochures, promotional materials). Use sales techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott. Enter, retrieve, reconcile, and verify information (e.g., commissions, leads, third parties) in software involved in the sales process. Answer guest questions about property facilities/services (e.g., hours of operation, rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events). Serve as the point of contact for clients and communicate with them by phone and email to respond to questions and requests.

Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
