RARE Steak and Sushi/LifeCafe is currently seeking a Restaurant General Manager. Responsible for the overall, day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient and profitable service of food and beverage. Successfully train and lead restaurant and caf team members. Provides leadership in the fulfillment of Life Time Fitness' mission statement and brand.

Responsibilities

* Develops operation and growth of staff, sales and profit

* Maximizes profit by controlling food, beverage and labor costs

* Increases sales by ensuring guest satisfaction through prompt problem resolution

* Manages overall restaurant operations

* Reviews financial transactions, makes financial decisions to ensure efficient operation and expenditures stay within the budget limitations

* Ensures leadership and performance excellence of the staff by training, modeling, developing and assessing to ensure continuous growth

* Trains and develops staff through quality orientations, direction and feedback

* Provides effective performance evaluations

* Coaches, counsels and motivates staff

*Helps make decisions on new hires, promotions and terminations and takes appropriate action

* Coordinates involuntary terminations and disciplinary actions with the Human Resources Director

* Approves employee paperwork (i.e. status changes, new hires, terminations, merit increases, etc.)

* Prepares and conducts daily staff meetings

* Works directly with GM to ensure self-growth, business growth and continued staff success

* Builds relationships with members and guests

* Leads the planning and execution of all private and club-wide events

* Creates monthly business plans including measurable goals

* High school diploma or GED

* College degree in restaurant operations or hotel management preferred

* Five years restaurant management experience

* Ability to multi-task and learn quickly

* Excellent customer service skills

* Ability to handle and resolve customer conflicts in a professional, tactful manner

* Ability to build relationship with members

* Ability to operate a personal computer

* Knowledge of standard office procedures and software

* Ability to motivate staff

* Excellent organizational skills

* Ability to communicate clearly and professionally

* Ability to stay calm in tense situations

* Ability to solve problems

* Ability to use point of sales computer systems
