About this job
Member of the Kids Activities Team which is responsible for providing best-in-class, fitness-minded children's programming that our kids ask to participate in and our parents will highly recommend to their friends and neighbors. Organizes and implements safe, fun and entertaining activities and games for children between the ages of 3 months to 12 years in the Child Center, having their Birthday Party or attending other paid programs or events. Plans and instructs high-quality children's sports and fitness classes with an emphasis on learning, fitness and progression.
Responsibilities
Membership Experience:
Greets and welcomes parents and children in a warm and friendly manner
Initiates, develops and maintains personalized relationships with members and their children; getting to know children's names, ages and interests, and recommends programs to fit both the children and their parents.
Engages children in interactive activities that include story telling, organized arts & crafts, singing, and games in the Child Center.
Facilitates high-quality children's birthday parties and other paid programs or events
Resolves child conflicts in a swift and professional manner
Monitors and interacts with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to the toys, sports equipment, other children, and surroundings
Handle member questions, comments and concerns in professional manner.
Clean and maintain the Child Center and other program areas by following the cleaning checklist and performing assigned tasks
Articulates extensive knowledge of Kids Activities programs and services, policies, and procedures
Coaching:
Ability to follow high-quality lesson plans that include an emphasis on fitness and to improvise and adjust plans where necessary
Demonstrates appropriate level of skills and knowledge of the sport or skill being taught
Teaches skills at an age-appropriate level to ensure the class objectives are met
Identify individual needs of children and adapt instruction to ensure each child's continued success
Clearly communicate each child's progress and development needs to parents on a regular basis
Sale & Promotional:
Promote monthly events and activities
Promote and sell all Kids Activities programs and services
Promote all Life Time programs, products, and services
Continually increase knowledge of Life Time products, services, policies and procedures
Ensure assigned classes continue running each session by reminding participants and parents about upcoming sessions and other programs
Financial & Budgetary:
Ensure use of supplies, snacks and drinks follow the amount prearranged by the department budget
Makes recommendations to the Department Head for supplies and equipment needed to ensure best-in-class programs
Other:
Maintain discipline and order within the Child Center and Kids Activities programs
Adhere to rules and regulations within the Child Center and Kids Activities programs
Attend toy cleaning, department, and "all club" meetings
Customer Service:
Demonstrate positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism to internal and external customers
Safety:
Comply with all company safety rules
Use all required safety devices and personal protection equipment
Report accidents and injuries to supervisor as soon as possible
Participate in safety training and safety inspections
Suggest methods of preventing hazards to safety committee
Working towards a college degree in Exercise and Sport Science, Elementary Education with a Coaching Emphasis or a related field
Six months to one-year of teaching or coaching similar programs or activities with children
First Aid required within the first 60 days of hire
Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED required within the first 60 days of hire
Excellent customer service skills, energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to build relationship with members
Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
Ability to acknowledge difficult situations and respond accordingly
Comfortable working with children in the age group of three months to 12 years
Ability to tolerate loud noises
Firmly but tactfully enforce Life Time policies and procedures
Ability to multi-task and learn quickly
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to operate a personal computer including Microsoft Excel and Word
