Senior Traffic/Transportation Analyst - Direct Hire Position!

Core Scope of Position:

Strategic and tactical aspects of domestic transportation and freight payment. This position is responsible for the analysis, metrics, and project management for transportation initiatives involving domestic transportation, domestic freight payment, carrier performance and freight contract management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead various projects as required covering areas in domestic transportation initiatives.
  • Identification of problems through analysis, creating sustainable solutions, and influencing key decision makers on supply chain strategies.
  • Manage route guides and MZ tables to support low cost carrier and customer requirements.
  • Conduct analysis on service provider selection and investigate new carrier options.
  • Assign and update items with freight class and NMFC.
  • Manage freight loss and damage claims.
  • Works closely with the Director of Supply Chain Operations to reduce or maintain the transportation portion of the department budget, including assisting in the development of the annual budget.
  • Conduct transportation optimization and cost containment studies.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years experience in supply chain management and logistics.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to validate, manipulate, manage data, and conduct analyses on mode, frequency, cube utilization, weight, volume, cost, etc.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems a plus.
  • Experience and solid understanding of rates and service contracts in the domestic logistics arena.
  • Advanced PC skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability in fostering teamwork.
