We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Database Administrator (SQL).
Must be able to work various shifts per week.
Requirements
Responsible for all aspects of database operations in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. Responsible to ensure high availability and integrity across all the database servers in the enterprise. Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases. Ability to work with management to develop database strategies to support business needs. Ability to advise and consult with users on accessing various databases, and to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate use of data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Active coaching and lead others toward technical skill development. Frequent and meaningful communications with IT and business partners via both formal and informal channels/mechanisms.
- Continuous improvement and execution of measured service level objectives balanced with cost control.
- Database tuning and performance analysis.
- Design and create database/database objects. Work with Infrastructure services on DASD planning and DASD design, including database and database server capacity planning.
- Develop database disaster recovery planning
- Help development team optimizing code
- Index analysis and fine-tuning.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Perform database backup and restores.
- Perform database optimizations and consistency checks
- Research product enhancements and capabilities.
- Share on-call rotation with team.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues.
- Upgrade and apply patches to product software.
- Must meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.
- Must work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers

5. Experience with Windows Server Failover Cluster configuration.

7. Strong understanding of DBA functions and best practices.
8. Communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Strong understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server Storage Model.
10. Understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server Security Model.
11. Strong background in SQL Server database administration including, but not limited to, backups, recovery, transaction log management, performance monitoring, data/backup compression, table partitioning, and replication topologies.
12. Knowledge of SQL Server Profiler/Extended Events and its uses in trouble shooting and problem analysis.
13. Knowledge of SQL PowerShell
14. Strong understanding of the Transact-SQL language
15. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
16. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server internal concepts including, but not limited to, pages, caching, and join types
