MECHANICAL ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY
I have an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity in Rochester, NY. The primary focus of this role is the development, design, and documentation of the mechanical and electromechanical systems, assemblies, and details for the automated manufacturing equipment and ancillary products from concept through full implementation. This Mechanical Engineer will develop design solutions using a combination of creativity and engineering tools that meet or exceed customer expectations and complete technical requirements and eqipment/machine configurations. This Engineer will be responsible for design maintenance (Change Orders), detail drawings for components, produce BOMs, and attend, participate, conduct design reviews. Other responsibilities include designing components and assemblies with the appropriate documentation detail and application of GD&T, CAD data archiving, and business system adherence. SolidWorks is the CAD package of choice but high proficiency with similar CAD tools is also acceptable.
Education/Required Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering Degree (Required)
- 4-10+ years related experience (Required)
- Extensive experience with 3D Modeling (i.e. SolidWorks) and 2D Drafting Software (i.e. AutoCAD)-(SolidWorks Preferred)
- Experience with application of GD&T in design and details
- Experience in machine and mechanism design, automation equipment i.e. robotics, drives, transmission devices
- Experience with fabrication methods and tolerances for manufacture of industrial automation equipment (i.e. machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing)
