Universal Protection Security Systems has an immediate opening for a Branch Manager. The Branch Manager position is responsible for overseeing all branch personnel and managing all aspects of the daily operations including the financial profitability and sales for the branch. The Branch Manager is critical to the daily operation and requires interfacing directly with customers, suppliers, subcontractors of UPSS, Corporate staff, and UPSS employees, such as Systems Engineers and Technical Service Representatives.

The Branch Manager performs the sales and marketing of commercial, industrial, and institutional IP and CCTV/video, card access control, and alarm systems. The position requires knowledge of products sold by UPSS, knowledge of safety and installation standards, knowledge of electrical requirements for system installation, and supervisory/managerial skills.

Additional responsibilities of the Branch Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordination of projects in the field with the customer, Technical Services Representatives (TSR) and systems engineer who designed the system.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of branch office, including client relations, new job start/ups, transitions of new accounts, and employee relations.
  • Ensuring the client relations are maintained within the UPSS standards, including regular contact with clients, proactive problem resolution, and oversight regarding daily client issues.
  • Coaching, developing and guiding the branch staff to perform efficiently and effectively.
  • Responsible for implementing and ensuring ongoing compliance with all company-wide programs.
  • Will take lead role in ensuring the profitability, maintaining the responsibility and control of all financial impacts to the branch and company.
  • Assist with planning on both a short-term and long-term basis, for future operational growth and expansion
  • Determines customers' needs and requirements for electronic security (includes visiting customer sites when necessary). Designs electronic security systems and prepare sales proposals for customers.
  • Hires, trains, and disciplines (if required) all office personnel.
  • Oversees policies and procedures that cover [1] Company vans (including maintenance, minimum stock levels, ladders/racks); [2] work tools; [3] timely, accurate administrative reporting (time sheets, accountability, service orders & other paperwork), or [4] otherwise affect the TSRs or installation and service in their office.
  • Manages annual educational goals and certifications for each Technical Service Representatives (TSRs).
  • Coach and hold accountable: Managers-coordinators, Sales Engineers, and Project managers
  • Evaluates and reviews job performance of all office personnel and determines pay increases.
  • Establishes and oversees policies and procedures which insure customer satisfaction in the operational areas of project installation and field service for the office.
  • Tracks Drug testing requirements and dates for all office personnel. Verify customer requirements are met.
  • Review time sheets for accuracy and process absence requests.
  • Manages and forecasts Sales activities for office.
  • Large project bid submission and documentation.
  • Manage sales staff, contract and proposal review.
  • Interfaces with manufacturers to provide feedback on products from systems integrator level.
  • Manages and monitors office’s financial performance using Profit and Loss statements along with other financial reports.
  • Tracks and actively pursues aging accounts receivable 60 day outstanding accounts
  • Verifies the S2000 procedures are followed to maintain accurate and timely data.
  • Responsible for Inventory management of office. Performs Inventory inspections and counts.
  • Manage UPSS and client requirements for staff working on site.
  • Performs safety functions for office to verify personnel are properly trained and possess correct PPE. Verify weekly safety meetings are completed and sent to Corporate.
  • Responsible for the overall project management process involved with new projects.
  • Contract review and submission to corporate office
  • Oversee invoicing, including AIA, partial billing, agreements. Monitor /review job costing reports and meeting monthly goals.
  • Manage subcontractor requirements; work performance, sub agreements, COI’s, Lien waivers, and W-9.


Position Requirements

Qualified applicants for the Branch Manager position will meet the following minimum requirements:
  • High school diploma required. College degree in business, finance, or related business subject, preferably from a 4-year accredited institution highly desired.
  • Minimum 10+ year’s progressive management experience with a major security integrator and/or related industry.
  • Demonstrated propensity for growing, managing and developing a business, with strong entrepreneurial characteristics.
  • Ability to lead in a fiscally prudent and competitive manner.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a highly strategic perspective.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to increased revenue through program identification and management, and ability to hold staff and self-accountable for profitability.
  • Energetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.
  • Possess a “take charge” ability tempered with diplomacy and the ability to effectively delegate appropriately.
  • Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization.
