POSITION PURPOSE -
The Home Depot is looking for an IT thought leader in the area of Relational Database Architecture with a strong background in Oracle technologies. This role will be responsible for the Architecture of the Enterprise Oracle database environment. This role requires a deep background in Oracle database technologies, processes, monitoring and performance tuning as well as outstanding retail business acumen with the ability to partner closely with business leaders. As the Senior Architect over the Oracle environment, this person must have great communication skills with the ability to collaborate well and be a great team player. A successful candidate is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment. This role will have direct reports.Responsibilities include:
- Design optimal solutions to support the business
- Develop technology strategies, roadmaps and capacity plans
- Analyze environment to ensure architectural standards are followed
- Assist in root cause analysis for issues
- Lead outage incidents thru resolution
- Provide KPI's for area of responsibility
- Persistently seek innovative ways to improve efficiency and quality
- Performance tuning, Operational Stability, and driving process automation
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Lead design, development, and deployment of technical and application solutions to meet business requirements across an IT portfolio that are cost effective and sustainable. Deliver conceptual, logical, and physical solution specifications.
Provide input into annual budget planning for technology migrations and project cost estimation.
Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery.
Establish and implement technology migration strategies and provide technical oversight across an IT portfolio.
Drive implementation and use of technology governance processes.
Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports Director, Enterprise Architect, or Vice President
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area.
Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 10
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
