About this job
A growing healthcare company is currently looking for Claims Specialist to join their team. They will be working with the Accounts Receivable department to get caught up on their open claims. The job duties include:
- Proactively work on open insurance claims to ensure prompt processing
- Work aging report to ensure unpaid claims have been received and are in process with payers
- Improve claim flow by working with insurance specialist to identify and resolve claim handling issues
- Read and interpret payer explanation of benefits to verify claims adjudicated in accordance with contract guidelines
- Appeal and follow up on denied insurance claims
- Prepare payer appeals for denied claims
- Monitor denials and results
- Resolve electronic claim rejections
- Correct and resubmit claims stopped by clearinghouse
Work Environment:
Hours: Monday - Friday with flexible hours between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. OVERTIME is encouraged right now! During training (roughly first week) hours will be between 8-5PM.
Expectations:
The first three days will be spent doing hands on training with supervisor. Sitting down with supervisor going through daily routines and learning the job.
They will be evaluated by how effective they are on working the aging report and getting denied claims resolved.
Best employee will have experience doing this job and be a reliable employee who has a strong attendance record.
Qualifications:
2+ years experience with Medical insurance claims
2+ years experience working aging reports
strong knowledge of Microsoft office (ask in reference)
2+ years experience working with medical insurance companies on follow up
Strong medical terminology
