The Assistant Program Manager supports the Procurement Program Manager to ensure the overall accomplishment of all procurement deliverables required for a successful application launch, ensuring adherence to CVDS 3.x methodology and Quality Gate Process, and the subsequent reporting of the program(s) status to senior management, starting with the project concept phase until series production of applications of the engine, transmission, and turbocharger portfolio.

  • Analyze, investigate and understand all relevant aspects and status of product implementation (overall project and sub project Procurement)
  • Structure, synchronize and maintain an overall timing plan for component sourcing (i.e. sourcing roadmap)
  • Conduct meeting, workshops and status reviews with involved module team buyers/line buyers
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision making and prioritization as necessary
  • Identify risks and issues and communicate to Program Management
  • Develop countermeasure plan with Program Management and buyers to address open tasks and risks
  • Provide overall coordination of tasks between all departments where necessary
  • Capture, track and drive to closure all open items and action items according to RPlan deliverables
  • Develop and maintain standardized assessment and reporting process for all product projects (KPIs)
  • Identify, capture and track all cost savings/risks related to new product/parts variants
  • Provide procurement specific status reporting in/out
  • Identify risks and issues, create and communicate countermeasures
  • Communicate through standard templates and executing standard processes, if not applicable or available, identify need and support creating standard templates and processes
  • Develop and maintain regular presentation graphics to track project progress and success (KPIs), e.g. DM/LON coverage, Globus contract ramp-up

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Purchasing or Supply Chain ideal
  • PMP certified a plus. Running large projects/project management experience required
  • Organizing and presenting data via MS Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint) or other best in class ways of showing trends or reporting capabilities.
  • Fluency to navigate Supply Chain process and following projects up and down stream.
  • Experience working with engineering (Schematics, BOMs, insight into technical data on automotive components ideal)
  • Ability to work on a cross functional team, work/communication may be global (travel not required at this time)
