SUE Technician I - Full-time / Part-time

Cardno TBE is a national civil engineering firm that has a department locally that specializes in "subsurface utility engineering (SUE)". The purpose of SUE work is to map underground utilities so that they are not impacted by new construction. A variety of methods are employed to map these utilities to determine whether or not they are in conflict with a construction project so they can be relocated if necessary. Some are nondestructive above the surface, and some employ a "vacuum excavation truck (VAC)", to expose the utilities and record their location. This is all done to avoid construction delays, assist with cost-savings, and avoid risk associated with damaged underground utilities. Cardno is looking for an entry level SUE Tech for their Round Rock office. This will entail working on a two person crew, marking utilities, marking equipment, and digging test holes. This position will be travel - intensive, with 70% statewide travel expected. This is not PHMSA/DOT regulated.
