Company located in Charlotte in search for a Robotics Engineer. Installing several robots over the next year (Fanuc, Motoman, Urmah). In need of an engineer who has experience with integration of robotics around CNC machinery. Commissioning and testing experience is a plus.

Our Robotics Engineer candidate will possess the following qualifications:

* Proven ability to install, program, troubleshoot and repair Robots and related equipment such as CNC's, PLC's, robot controllers, positioning systems, vision systems, automated fixture devices and parts orientors/feeders, applying knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming, using power tools, hand tools, test instruments, manuals, schematics diagrams, and prints.
* Proven ability to interface robotic and machine controls.
* Ability to inspect installation site to verify that electrical supply wires, conduit, switches, and circuit breakers are installed according to specifications. Follows all manufactures specification in new installation of robots and safety cages.
* Capable of positing and securing robots and other related equipment to floor, assisted by maintenance staff, using crane, forklifts, and power tools per manufacture instructions. Inspects installation site to ensure that the robot has been installed according to specifications.
* Connects electrical wires to robot controller and programmable controller, and also connects cables between robot, robot controller, programmable controller, and hydraulic power unit.
* Executes, troubleshoots, and corrects difficulties encountered with equipment start-up.
* Programs robots to perform specified tasks, applying knowledge of programming language and PLC's using teach pendant, keyboard, control panel, or robot controller.
* Modify programs to refine movement and efficiency of robots, using teach pendant.
* Performs troubleshooting analysis of robot and related equipment to detect malfunction, and repairs or replaces defective parts or modules.
* Test electrical components, such as wiring, switches, relays, encoders, and sensors using test instruments, then repairs or replaces defective components.
* Performs verification and testing of robot repair operation, work completed, and releases the equipment back to production.
* Train operators and staff in the operation of robots and related equipment.
* Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers and technical support in a professional manner.

* Minimum Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology with a concentration in Robotics, or suitable and demonstrative skills based on years of experience.
* Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing, designing, programming, and troubleshooting Fanuc robotics equipment and control systems.
* Ability to read and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC programs and other ladder logic control systems.
* Thorough understanding of inputs and outputs from robot controls, and safety interconnects for robot and machine controls.
* Ingoing/outgoing material handling and random bin picking experience a plus
* Must be self-motivated, driven, focused and results oriented
* Must have a positive attitude and be able to work independently and as a team member
* Must be organized and detail oriented.
* Desire to continually increase technical knowledge and personal development.
