Position Summary:

Maintain corporate campus security in association with the Main Office Loss Prevention Manager and administration team. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain access control system
  • Assist with key control and coordinate with facilities maintenance to verify proper maintenance of access points
  • Assist with the security of the corporate campus facility and grounds, including facilities under construction or remodel
  • Respond to individuals presenting security concerns
  • Investigate security related issues and concerns, including resolution and follow-up
  • Prepare security related reports and documents
  • Collaborate with local authorities
  • Report and document unsafe conditions
  • Investigate and document incidents
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus one-two years security; or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends on a regular basis
  • Ability to work any shift
  • Ability to travel independently on an occasional basis
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes
  • Valid driver's license
Desired Previous Job Experience:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
  • BA/BS degree in criminal justice
  • Retail security experience
  • Law enforcement experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word
  • Ability to continue education and training
