About this job
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Facility Maintenance, this position operates equipment, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic and basic pneumatic equipment. Reads building prints and understands the basic principles of building systems including electrical, distribution, plumbing, waste water, fire protection and medical gases.

* Demonstrates the ability to: * Read and understand manufacturers' schematic and wiring diagrams. * Read and understand building mechanical and electrical diagrams * Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical equipment. * Use a variety of hand tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair basic
electrical and mechanical equipment. * Use a variety of hand tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair basic
building utility systems to include electrical, plumbing, sewer and medical gases. * Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections * Communicate both orally and in writing with a working knowledge of the English
language. * Research maintenance manuals to determine correct repair part for ordering. * Prioritize work requests in accordance with established guidelines. Experience: 3-4 years as a facilities maintenance mechanic or 3-4 years providing services in a related field to maintenance mechanic work. Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
