Warehouse Worker

AmeriCold Logistics, the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking Warehouse Workers/Forklift Operators to join the team at our Gouldsboro, PA facility. Current openings are for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th shifts.
Primary Responsibility: Under general supervision, Forklift Operator / Warehouse Worker will follow instructions to ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of frozen food products as well as utilize electric pallet-jacks and select cases from pick slots in a safe, accurate, productive manner and assemble order onto pallets for proper shipment to customers.
Essential Functions:
1. Promote a safe work environment through personal actions . Identify and report any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
2. Move product to storage areas with proper equipment.
3. Follow instructions and pick cases from the pick slots in safe, accurate and productive manner. Secure selected cases and conduct final pallet preparations by wrapping selected load and applying shipping labels.
4. Prepare and place assembled case pick pallets and move assembled pallets from picking areas to a dock door or staging area.
5. Responsible for ensuring that all cases and pallets are properly identified with the correct store number.
6. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Equipment to include (but not limited to) stand up forklift, electric pallet jacks, double pallet jacks and radio frequency equipment.
7. Performs visual and operational vehicle safety inspections and reports any unsafe vehicles to shift supervisor or maintenance personnel.
8. Observes, reports and corrects (when appropriate) all unsafe and unsanitary conditions that could cause employee and/or customer accidents. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment.
9. Comply with OSHA standards.
10.Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
11.Perform other duties as assigned,may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
Required Experience:
Qualifications/Additional Skills:
* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
* 6 months of working experience in a physical labor-intensive environment desired. Work experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
* Requires ability to operate material handling equipment and become forklift certified.
* Applicant must have good communication skills to effectively listen, read, write and speak to perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others. Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: must get along with co-workers; must be able to work with difficult individuals without exhibiting behavioral extremes: and respond respectfully and appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
* Applicant must have good math skills to read numbers and labels as well as add, subtract and multiply numbers.
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
* Must be able to work varied schedule including weekend and early morning shifts.
* Requires the ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements and working conditions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions for this position and meet the physical requirements needed to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
* Individuals will be required to work in a 32 degree to -20 degree F environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
* Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop and lift up to and including 20 - 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
* Ability to walk distances and stand for extended periods of time.
