Under limited supervision, the Business Application Analyst will be responsible for working with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, specify and validate business and solution requirements to meet business needs. The Team Member must be able to bring together a diverse stakeholder group, drive consensus and create a shared understanding between the customer community and the solution delivery team while maintaining alignment with Business and IT Strategies.
The position can be located within our corporate offices which is McLean VA, Dallas TX or Memphis TN.

What will I be doing?
Using knowledge of business goals, the Business Application Analyst will help translate strategies and initiatives into action plans with required deliverables. The Team Member will also be called upon to produce standard business process artifacts through interviews, partnerships, and facilitated sessions. The Business Application Analyst should be familiar with various modeling techniques and have experience producing standard artifacts including but not limited to Use Case, Business Domain Model, Process Map and Cross-Functional Flowcharts.
Other key priorities are listed below:
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Proactively communicate and collaborate with others across the organization to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed; functional requirements, business requirement documents, use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs
Utilize experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Work independently with users to define concepts, as well as under the direction of project managers
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Serve as the conduit between the business and the software development team through which requirements flow
Develop requirement specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Organize and present ideas in a convincing and compelling manner
Persuade and influence others with effective verbal and written communication
Understand the value of the process-centric approach to business analysis and capability development
Command of project management techniques and tools
Develop or modify moderately complex information systems documentation and convey this information to the technical team for translation into programming languages or implement into COTS technologies
Identify process, technology and organizational role changes necessary to support business goals and objectives
Technical writing and documentation skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams and the ability to provide technical leadership
Outgoing personality; self-starter that is able to work interactively and independently with stakeholders
Possess a strong business acumen; possess a broad, enterprise-wide view and understanding of strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies and governance

BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
A minimum of four (4) years of prior experience working in an Analyst capacity on large and/or complex projects
A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience
A minimum of two (2) years of project experiences, such as understanding the business need, defining a creative and useful solution, and promoting the product to the user community and management
A minimum of two (2) years of Supervisory experience
Experience in leading the business process of re-engineering efforts for at least one medium-to-large software project
Understanding of business strategy development techniques
Experience working within a team of Business Analysts
Experience with formal SDLC practices, with an emphasis on Analysis and Design stages
Proven ability in gathering, tracing, translating and managing complex requirements, business rules, and data
Experience with process modeling tools (Rational, Visio, etc.) to identify, capture, define, and analyze business processes
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to travel internationally
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
MA/MS Master's Degree in Information Systems, Business or related field
A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
A minimum of two (2) years of Managerial experience
Hospitality industry experience
Lean Thinking and Six Sigma educated
CBAP and/or CCBA Certification
