POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the security operations in facilities at specified Home Depot locations. Supervise the daily operation of a team of professionals in the Security department. Resolve operational issues, develop personnel, promote company and departmental values, while insuring individual and team goals are met or exceeded.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide administrative support and Security supervision covering facilities as directed. Oversee and supervise shift operations. Responsible for assistance in scheduling staff of a 24/7 operation, keeping overtime to a necessary minimum. Identify, document and report incidents and irregularities at facilities. Responsible for performance appraisals and professional development of assigned staff. Special projects as assigned
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to Manager Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others.
Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required.
This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work a flexible, minimum 50-55 hours per week to include weekends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Use quantitative skills to help drive projects.
Be able to identify, distinguish and analyze multiple components of a problem, and then make appropriate conclusions based on available information.
Use tactical thinking to support strategic goals of department, determine the problem and understand the fundamental parts of the problem.
Knowledge of the role and function of Corporate Security at the Home depot or similar major company.
Knowledge of facility management as it pertains to security and access control.
