Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for developing and distributing Event Analysis reports for service impacting events.

Manage the proactive analysis, trending, and correlation of network performance metrics and reports to identify areas that are in need of improvement.

Develop network and operational risk assessment reports for all of our products and services.

Works with internal customers from various organizations to define needs, develop solutions, define tasks, negotiates scope and terms of delivery for identified recommendations.

Present information in an easy to understand way including oral presentations and written communications.

Develop communication points and processes to support analysis, trends, and recommendations.

Provide insight on data trends and anomalies to include making recommendations, where appropriate, to improve our service delivery performance. Uses a variety of statistical software and methods to gather, analyze, and interpret data.

Participate in analysis briefings with various groups, including senior staff, to discuss ways that we can improve the reliability of our network and improve the quality of experience of our services for our customers.

After critical or high severity network events he/she will gather and record information on all relevant events and their timing, assist in identifying and presenting root cause finding to the management team for review and input. Drive the internal event analysis to completion and convert to external Event Analysis Reports for distribution and maintain a repository of all completed and in-progress Event Analysis Reports.

Job Requirements:

Must have root cause analysis training or experience.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to formulate insights, and to deliver expert advice, recommendations, and consulting for historical measures and leading indicators as well as an overall decision support strategy.

Create and deliver appropriate training and communications in support of tools, processes, and data integrity.

Comfortable presenting and communicating compelling data, analysis and findings to all levels of the organization.

Ability to operate with a degree of interpersonal flexibility and confidentiality and handle multiple projects simultaneously under pressure and meet goals/deadlines.

Must take the initiative to stay abreast of industry and business challenges and incorporate trending analysis with internal data.

Excellent proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Visio and IE

Experience working with CTM, CTC, SAM, Netsmart, INC, Xymon, and Netcool monitoring solutions.

Experience working with Cisco, Fujitsu, and/or Alcatel equipment and systems.

Previous experience using enterprise ticketing systems as well as remedy ticketing, billing systems (ICOMs/CSG).

Understanding of MSO and/or Telecom technologies and networks.

Experience with metrics gathering, reporting, analysis and statistical process control.

Preferred Qualifications

:

Dispatch procedures and working knowledge of maintenance, service and installation functions is a plus.

Cisco CCNA , SCTE BDS, BTS or above certification.

Six Sigma, ITIL OSA or above certification a plus.

Previous experience in network fault isolation and/or provisioning and optical networks preferred.

Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, etc.)

Education and Experience:

Bachelor degree from 4 year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience
