Phillips Chevrolet at our Frankfort, Illinois location is looking for an Automotive Service Technician who specializes in Transmissions. Our long-standing commitment to providing great service has boosted business and our needs for an experienced Automotive Service Technician preferably with transmission experience.Candidates should have 2+ years automotive service technician mechanic experience and be ASE Certified (GM preferred).


Job Requirements

* Must be a ASE certified automotive technician -, but willing to look at all techs who are GM automotive certified in any area
* Ability to perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or GM automotive standards in all service areas: electrical, steering, suspension, brake systems, A/C etc. with a focus on manual and automatic transmission.
* Minimum 2-4 years transmission/ automotive service technician experience
* Experienced with all areas relating to transmission and servicing transmission problems including removal and repairs.


Job Responsibilities

* Automotive Technicians must explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
* Experienced in transmission related repairs, diagnosis and related parts
* Experience in automotive repairs, replacement of parts and diagnosis of all repairs
* Ability to perform physical duties related to the position
* Ability to raise automotive vehicle, using jacks or hoists, knowledge of how to remove and repair transmissions, engines, and internal automotive parts.
* Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
