Job Summary The Design and Construction Services (DCS) Division of AECOM is seeking an Electrician licensed to work at the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel facility and other tunnel and bridge facility sites in the Hampton Roads Virginia area.
The applicant will be responsible for preventative maintenance and installation/repairs of the electrical/mechanical tunnel and bridge systems equipment. This position is designated as essential and, as such, all duties associated with this job are required during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed above. Minimum Requirements * High School diploma or equivalent
* 8+ years experience in maintenance, equipment operation, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, electronics or related machinery field
* Journeyman Electrical Certification is required
* Knowledge of standard practices of electrical trade at the Journeyman level
* Ability to read, write, and perform complex mathematical calculations, and to repair and install electrical equipment
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
* Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, welding, switchgear transformers and high voltage breakers
* Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a polite, respectful and professional manner to promote cooperation and team work
* Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical malfunctions
* Knowledge and ability to use, read and interpret complex equipment manuals, blueprints, electrical/mechanical reports, schematics and one line diagrams
* Knowledge of control circuits and troubleshooting controls for pumps, motors, and various electrical/mechanical systems in an industrial environment
