Job Summary Job Function:Performs carpentry work related to construction and building & grounds maintenance. Responsible for the planning and the lay out of work.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform carpentry buildings and grounds maintenance work. Perform carpentry construction work. Responsible for the planning, layout and execution of jobs. Performs minor masonry and concrete work. Perform related work as required. Provides oversight to outside contractors. Directs Carpenter II and M/M Helpers, and repair personnel as assigned. Read blueprints and generate bill of materials. Minimum Requirements A willingness to work shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Education:
High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience:
Four years experience in trade or building maintenance.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship, vocational or internal developmental program for a journeyman carpenter.
Security: Must be a U.S. Citizen Top Secret/ SCI Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Possess thorough knowledge of the carpentry trade.
Must be able to operate power tools and machinery as required.
Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
Ability to write correspondence.
