Job Summary The locksmith installs, maintains, repairs and adjusts all types of locks and their components for the facility. The locksmith performs on a regular basis a variety of locksmith duties which have been recognized as more complex than those assigned at the entry level or experienced level of the locksmith trades.
Responsibilities:
- Cuts keys by code or duplication, maintains key and combination records.
- Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations
- Orders parts and supplies and maintains inventory records
- inspects related work performed by contractors; estimates cost, time and materials for locksmith projects.
- Performs related work as assigned Minimum Requirements Must possess a TS /SCI with Polygraph
High School diploma/GED
Graduate of recognized locksmith school
4 years experience in general or large institutional locksmithing
Basic carpentry skills
Must possess state and local licenses for this position. Preferred Qualifications Basic computer skills
