The Morgan Stanley Tax Operations team is responsible for ensuring that all tax documentation, withholding, and reporting & filing obligations are met for all Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Customers in the Americas receiving U.S. Sourced Income.

The Tax Operations Representative will serve as a vital member of the Tax Operations Team in Salt Lake City, UT, working with Global Tax Operations to assist in running an effective Operations control function.

Responsibilities:

- Execute business and regulatory compliance responsibilities relating to Tax Operations, which includes the following:

- Support various Global Business Units (Prime Brokerage, PWM, FX, Client On-Boarding, etc.) through the collection, validation, and re-solicitation of tax documentation where required and work through resolution of tax form issues with the various business units and clients.

- Assist in remediation efforts to procure tax documentation for accounts that have invalid/missing information.

- Index and scan all tax documents for main and sub accounts to ensure documentation is retained and stored in a secure manner, and maintained correctly for audit purposes.

- Responsible for archiving documentation with network storage and offsite storage.

- Assist in ensuring compliance with current and future tax year requirements.

- Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and policies as related to tax operations and tax documentation initiatives and requirements.

- Participate on tax documentation projects that focus on complying with new and existing regulatory requirements and specifications to create productivity enhancements.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years experience in the Financial Industry.

- Understanding of general accounting principles as they apply to the industry.

- Knowledge of general process controls, with knowledge of database, spreadsheet applications, and data modelling, including Microsoft Excel, Access and other Office applications.

- Excellent Communication Skills, both oral and written.

- Ability to work well within a team environment.

- Excellent Time Management, Interpersonal, and Problem-Solving Skills.

- Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively to meet tight and enforced Operational and annual deadlines for the firm.
