Job Description

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (Rehab Tech), participates in operational aspects of the department, performance improvement activities within the department and in CQI activities. Also provides input in formulating budget and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training and organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Primary patient population of inpatient (observation, acute and transitional care patients) and nursing home residents. May provide some outpatient coverage as needed.

Primary work location is Barron. May be asked asked to fill in at other NWWI MCHS sites in Rice Lake, Bloomer, Menomonie, Osseo, or Eau Claire as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Prefer 1 year of experience in all aspects of Occupational Therapy.

Other Qualifications:

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of physical medicine, occupational therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of physical and occupational therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs. Decision-making and problem solving. Team building.

License or Certification:

Current state of Wisconsin Occupational Therapy license. Certification in Hand Therapy as appropriate. Current BLS certification.

Schedule Details: Hours of operation 7 am to 5:30 pm.

Weekend Schedule: One of ten weekends

Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $25.70 per hour.
