Join our team at Wyoming Behavioral Insitute. We currently have an opening for a fulltime mid-level Nurse Practitioner to serve the patient population at Wyoming Behavioral Insistute. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medical care to patients.
Duties include:
Perform initial histories and physical examinations on patients admitted for inpatient care.
Develop care plans for patients in their care
Order medications for medical conditions
Order routine/acute laboratory, radiological and diagnostic testing pertinent to patients' medical conditions
Initiate and/or expedite requests for consultations, special tests or studies as needed
Write or dictate HampP's and interim progress notes in a timely manner and write medical discharge summaries
Apply currently accepted health care measures to patients and provide appropriate patient education
Administer topical/local anesthesia as needed for minor medical procedures or examination of tissue or tissue damage.
Conduct incision, drainage, or debriding and care of minor superficial wounds and excise skin lesions and provide and/or order appropriate wound care and wound monitoring
Conduct suturing/closure of simple lacerations
Apply splints
Insertion or removal of IV lines
Participate in patient staffing, keeping team members informed of patients' pertinent medical information
Must be 21 years old and be appropriately educated and licensed to practice in the State of Wyoming. Prefer one year of experience in psychiatric acute care, residential care, partial care or equivalent.
