JOB SUMMARY
Works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders in accordance with established nursing standards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. MSN preferred
2. Current Illinois R.N. licensure
3. Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners, including preceptorship
4. Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (in family, adult, or geriatric nursing)
5. Three years clinical experience
6. CPR certification
7. Effective interpersonal skills in order to communicate with the health care team and patients and their families
Essential Physical Job Functions
Ability to carry and lift up to 20 pounds, push/pull up to 30 pounds of force, transfer and position patients in different environments, and ability to climb stairs. Frequent sitting/standing/walking, and able to assume a full squatting position. Able to take and interpret vital signs, respond appropriately during emergency situations, and communicate clearly and effectively with a varied population.
