Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination and arrangement of freight services from supplier shipping locations to Sysco Redistribution Facilities, Sysco Forward Warehouses, Direct to Operating Company, and/or Direct to Customer. Position works independently.
Utilize TMS system to perform inbound load planning activities through order consolidation and aggregation. Identify lowest possible freight cost and best mode of transportation to maximize cost efficiency. Tender loads to designated carriers for delivery to RDC, Forward Warehouses, OPCO, or End-customer. Track loads through management of carrier responses to ensure on-time delivery and monitor performance for service level. Communicate daily with coordinators, suppliers, carriers, and regional staff concerning shipping activities. Collaborate with sector team, carrier development, and OPCO to identify issues and find both short term and long term solutions for all inbound logistics activities. Provide "out of office" coverage for other planners when necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree preferred and 1 year supply chain or transportation experience is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Ability to handle multiple tasks and details with accuracy as well as good communication skills is a must.
