Summary: The Psychiatric RN shall furnish services, including psychiatric evaluation and therapy, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, federal, state and local laws and within the guidelines of his/her professional organization. All functions shall be performed in accordance with the established policies and practices of Kindred at Home (KAH). The RN is qualified by education, training, experience and demonstrated abilities to work with and under the direction of the Branch Director or Clinical Director.

Registered Nurse, Psychiatric, Psych, RN

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.

Licenses/Certification: Current RN license in state of operation. Current driver's license. Must have reliable transportation and insurance.

The Registered Nurse must meet one of the following criteria (prior to the Psychiatric RN rendering psychiatric services):

An RN with a Master's degree with a specialty in psychiatric or mental health nursing and licensed in the state where practicing. The RN must have nursing experience (recommended within the last three years) in an acute treatment unit in a psychiatric hospital, psychiatric home care, psychiatric partial hospitalization program or other outpatient psychiatric services.

An RN with a Bachelor's degree in nursing and licensed in the state where practicing would qualify. The RN must have one year of recent nursing experience (recommended within the last three years) in an acute treatment unit in a psychiatric hospital, psychiatric home care, psychiatric partial hospitalization program or other outpatient psychiatric services.

An RN with a Diploma or Associate degree in nursing and licensed in the state where practicing would qualify. The RN must have two years of recent nursing experience (recommended within the last three years) in an acute treatment unit in a psychiatric hospital, psychiatric home care, psychiatric partial hospitalization program or other outpatient psychiatric services.

Experience: Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience (within the last three years) in an acute treatment unit in a psychiatric hospital, psychiatric home care, psychiatric partial hospitalization program or other outpatient psychiatric services.
