A Medical Support Specialist for CSL Plasma provides centralized support for the department of Medical Operations US. The position is responsible for the administration of various programs/processes involving the collection centers and Medical Operations US.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Administers the Medical Staff Associate (MSA) pre-approval process from receipt of the pre-approval to hire form, application, and proof of current licensure and CPR certification from the collection center. Reviews pre-approval materials for completeness, interfaces with center personnel when necessary, completes pre-approval to hire form, forwards the completed form to the center, maintains file of materials for each center.

Assists with the review, preparation, distribution and record keeping of medical staff approval letters and materials for each center.

Administers donor adverse reaction report review process including tracking/trending for each center. Generates and distributes quarterly reports to field and Medical Operations. Creates reports to answer specific tracking questions. Responsible for monitoring related FDA reporting.

Prepares lab result letters for donor's physicians or other healthcare providers, forwards letter to appropriate requesting individual/agency, maintains copy of letter/materials in center file, and updates/maintains Lab Result Letter Log.

Reviews online medical questions from donors and organizes a response through the Corporate Medical Director as appropriate. Provides telephone and online support to centers that have questions regarding donor suitability, unit disposition, and Medical Operations' procedures.

Reviews and develops standard operating procedures for completeness and accuracy, ensuring that they support Medical Operations' projects and/or satisfy FDA, GHA, OSHA, or other regulations.

Publishes quarterly Medical Operations newsletter in an effort to build a strong relationship between the center medical staff and corporate Medical Operations.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

RN (either associate degree or BSN).

Minimum 3 years plasma industry experience, preferably in the role of Medical Staff Associate (MSA).

Must have: good people skills; communication skills; computer skills, including Microsoft Office, preferably also Access; and good analytical thinking. Must be: detail-oriented; a self-starter; and customer service oriented. Ability to: work independently or as team member; deal with confidential information appropriately; and use good judgment.
