Solution Architect - Portal - Full-time / Part-time

Currently, Experis IT is seeking a Solutions Architect, focusing on web portal application projects, for a large technology and manufacturing company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The goals of the position are to lead and build high-performing application architecture and to lead the overall strategy in generating business value by delivering superior solutions. This position will lead the planning, and design of architectures based on eCommerce and web portal technologies - and will provide ongoing support for implementation and operations.

Duties:

1. Facilitate the creation, endorsement, and utilization of an IT architecture that applies professional expertise, exemplifies broad technical, analytical, and communication skills, and reflects extensive knowledge about industry best practices to develop and administer an IT architecture that effectively meets overall organizational needs.
2. Partner with senior management to ensure that the architecture defines and demonstrates the interoperability, scalability, agility and portability of applications and their sub-components to achieve optimum proficiency in all aspects of the enterprise systems and services infrastructure including: storage; servers; applications; databases; end-user experience; and the interaction/interconnectivity of each component.
3. Develop and oversee production activities of architecture documentation.
4. Implement architectural policies/procedures/guiding principles for use in conducting enterprise system operations, and analyze their overall effectiveness to ensure best practices are incorporated to successfully meet org's strategic goals
5. Apply professional expertise and skills to review/evaluate vendor proposals.
6. Collaborate with IT management to develop short- and long-range plans for eCommerce/Portal technology architecture.

Specifications:

• Master's degree in a computer related discipline or equivalent work experience
• 8 years of enterprise consulting experience, including implementation experience with one or more common enterprise software solutions (e.g. CRM, ERP)
• Knowledge and/or experience with any of the following technologies or frameworks: .NET, Web API, WCF, ASP.NET MVC, Java, Liferay, Drools, JSP, Single Sign-On, Mobile, Responsive design, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, web analytics, social networking technologies.
• Experience with Middleware is preferred
• 5 years' experience as a Senior Architect and/or CTO in a mid to large sized organization with demonstrated leadership driving an organizational transformation in a matrixed organization.
• Experience with key areas of enterprise architecture, including integration technologies, single sign on, and master data management
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including requirements, design, implementation, testing and maintenance
• Familiarity with systems integrations such as CRM, Content Management, POS/Commerce, or Web Analytics preferred
• Experience with Waterfall and/or Agile implementation methodologies
• Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
• Solid proven experience in enterprise application design, deployment or project management
• Experience in a global company working across major geographic regions is required
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and travel requirements
