3M is seeking a Technical Aide for the Commercial Solutions Division located in Maplewood, MN. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
The Commercial Solutions Division is looking for a highly motivated individual for a technical aide position in the area of product development of cleaning and work place safety hard good products.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work on tasks related formulation and evaluation of cleaning product development
- Perform lab experiments and document laboratory test results in a notebook
- Keep accurate records, doing quality work and performing standard related laboratory tests
- Learn new tests and conduct experiments independently
- Activities include: performing established laboratory tests (product weight, thickness, tensile strength, visual inspection, etc.), new test method scouting and development, mixing chemical formulas, and using larger scale laboratory equipment
This position is PART-TIME TEMPORARY and limited to working no more than 32 hours per week and 899 hours per service credit year.
Basic Qualifications:
- Completed at least one (1) semester of a post high school degree program from an accredited college or university or three (3) years of 3M experience as a technician in lieu of the above education requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current overall cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other engineering program
- Completed a minimum of Freshman year by the summer of 2014
- Completed at least one semester of a college level physical science or life science laboratory course
- Experience with MS Office applications
- Position requires part-time availability during regular business hours throughout the academic year with a minimum of 10-12 hours weekly and potentially up to 32 hours weekly during breaks
