PrideStaff is looking for a temporary Receptionist for our client in Bloomington. This position would start mid-August and go through October.

POSITION TITLE: Receptionist

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager and Accountant/Accounts Payable Supervisor

SUPERVISES: None

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

Position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with some coursework in typing and business related courses. Position also requires a minimum of two years general office experience, ability to accurately type at least 30-40 wpm, some computer knowledge and basic office skills. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to provide quality customer service are essential. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task effectively, and utilize multi-line phone system efficiently, accurately and professionally.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for answering and forwarding calls as well as directing front desk traffic. This position is the “gate-keeper” for the company. The ability to direct phone traffic and foot traffic effectively is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Answer incoming calls, forward calls to appropriate party or other appropriate person, screen calls and take messages for absent employees as needed.
  2. Greet visitors and direct front desk traffic appropriately, and in a professional and friendly manner. When necessary, notify (by phone) employees that visitors have arrived.
  3. Receive, sort and forward incoming/outgoing mail and packages in a timely manner. Sign for parcels when necessary. Sort and distribute incoming faxes and correspondence/plans promptly upon receipt.
  4. Distribute payroll checks to incoming supervisors and employees. Verify identification of spouses or other relatives who may pick up payroll checks.
  5. Scan and index items as needed for Field Payroll and Human Resources.
  6. Perform a variety of general clerical functions for Human Resources as assigned. Type memos, letters, listings, etc. as backup to Human Resources and organize/alphabetize filing for other work groups as requested.
  7. Order general office supplies as requested. Shop for competitive pricing and negotiate rates as needed. Store and keep supplies organized in appropriate places.
  8. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor to meet business needs.
