IT Database Analyst - US Telecommute

Use your operational analytical skills to design/develop, program, maintain and publish reports; as well as designing and developing SQL Packages, Access Methods, and Advanced T-SQL Coding. Using your skills, you will resolve Data Integrity and Access Issues within SQL Server Databases and will focus on optimizing the database for data access efficiency and accuracy as well as building advanced ETL and Analysis Services solutions. This will be a hands-on position and a lead role in high-visibility projects.

Make solid recommendations based on the analysis and provide explanations for reporting results for both internal operations and our customers. You must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex  issues. As a key resource to others you must maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always  meet  deadlines.

Day in the life of:

Day will be varied - you will be working with customers, gathering and writing up specifications, troubleshooting issues as they arise, designing solutions and either implementing or handing off for implementation, learning the UHC IT world so you can utilize resources to create databases, schedule jobs, among others, to bring your projects to conclusion.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field or High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of equivalent work experience in the IT field.


• 5+ years of SQL/TSQL Development experience.


• 3+ years of experience with Data Modeling (Star/Snowflake), ETL construction with advanced job scheduling.


• 3+ years of experience performing significant data analysis and report development.


• 3+ years recent experience in a customer facing role leading and managing projects, including requirements and documentation.


• 3+ years of experience relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, data warehouse.


• 3+ years designing reporting databases/data warehouses


• Expert level of programming and troubleshooting knowledge


• Experience with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables,filter, sorting,creating reporting, reviewing existing reports)


• Experience with Microsoft Access (linking tables, queries,review existing tables,visual basic and complete transform data)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous SQL Analysis Services (2008+) Experience (knowledge of Kimball methodologies).


• Previous experience with SSRS.


• Dashboard Construction & Concepts (Tableau, SSRS, etc.) experience.


• Tableau - MDX coding experience.


• Windows Server 2008/2012 experience.


• Knowledge with other database systems (Oracle/DB2/Hadoop).
