About this job
Patient Care Assistant functions as care partner to RN/Team Leader. Patient Care Assistant is assigned patient care duties and other tasks by RN/Team Leader. Tasks performed are in accordance with department and hospital policies and procedures and are in compliance with Alabama Nurse Practice Act.
Employees MUST obtain their supervisor's signature on the Job Posting and Transfer Request (Form 23), and submit the form to Human Resources within the job posting period, in order to complete the application process . Form 23 is available from Human Resources or your supervisor.
Education:
High School Graduate or hold a GED certificate
Completed an approved nursing assistant course preferred
All applicants are required to submit an official high school transcript or GED certificate verifying their level of education at the time of their interview. This transcript must be in a SEALED envelope from the school or agency.
Certfications / Licenses:
Maintain Heart Saver (CPR) Certification
BLS (CPR) preferred
Experience:
Work requires level of knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques generally acquired through hospital or other training program.
