Job Description
The Dispatcher role will assist the Traffic Team in delivering results through work with the OTR driver group, backhaul customers and various departments within PepsiCo. This person is also a contact point with drivers on tablet issues.
*Work with the Dispatch team in designing appropriate network solutions to move our product
*Available for possible shift work, overtime weekends and on-call requirements.
*Work with our routing and scheduling software to prepare optimized trips for our OTR drivers.
*Communicate route assignments, delivery schedules and backhaul pickups to our driver and customer service teams.
*Participate in courses, etc as an engaged member of the Traffic Team
*Role model for behaviors based on co-operation, professionalism, collaboration and excellence.
*Troubleshoot tablet issue and be the first point of contact for the drivers.
*Enter all TMAP edits on a weekly basis related to previous weeks trips to optimize OTD and TSA
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
* High School Diploma required,
* Excellent verbal and communication skills
* Strong Analytical and Organizational skills
* WMS/SAP experience preferred
* Willingness to assist others in the department
* 1-2 years experience in warehousing or distribution.
* Excellent organization skills
* High level of attention to detail
* Ability to manage several different tasks at the same time to successfully complete
* Proficiency in working with the following computer programs/systems: Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, TMS, Dimples, and SAP.
*Experience working in a fast paced Traffic/Distribution environment.
*Excellent written and oral communication skills.
*Capability to learn new Software Systems
*Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills, and accept new business changes
*High degree of organization skills and attention to detail.
*Financial and mathematical aptitude and ability to understand the whole business in-depth.
