About this job

Reviews requisitions, draws blood specimens via phlebotomy, labels and delivers containers to laboratory for chemical and biological analysis according to established department policies and procedures. Performs selected laboratory tests, other support tasks, and computer functions as required.

Education:

High school education or equivalent with basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple math. Phlebotomy training or experience required. All applicants are required to submit an official high school transcript or GED certificate verifying their level of education at the time of their interview. This transcript must be in a sealed envelope from the school or agency.

Experience:

6 months to 1 year phlebotomy experience (or formal phlebotomy training) required.

Licenses/Certificates:

ASCP or ASPT phlebotomy certification preferred. Current employees MUST obtain their supervisor's signature on the Job Posting and Transfer Request (Form 23), and submit the form to Human Resources within the job posting period, in order to complete the application process. Form 23 is available from Human Resources or your supervisor.
