Role Summary:
VP of Promotions and Brand Marketing will focus on delivering third party promotions and brand extensions on all Focus Features theatrical releases. The goal of the position is to generate innovative and opportunistic marketing activations with corporate brands, including promotional partners, retailers, publishers, and licensees, as well as across NBCUniversal and Comcast. The role, which reports to the President of Marketing, will be instrumental in developing, managing, and coordinating unique marketing extensions to create awareness and buzz, and drive box office during the film release window.
Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as "brand ambassador" for Focus Features, developing and building marketing alliances with national and regional brands, promotional partners, licensees and retailers to break through marketplace clutter, amplify market presence and drive box-office performance
Develop outreach and pitching strategies for each Focus Features property; pitch each Focus Features property to the brand community and develop customized outreach and partnership materials
Pursue innovative, first-to-market consumer activations with applications for Digital, Social, Media, Field and National Publicity
Oversee and manage cross-functional team collaboration to create and implement unique 360 multi-platform promotional programs that include on-air, grassroots, retail and social media initiatives
Generate opportunistic marketing partnerships to support Focus Features specialty/Academy releases
Partner with Media team to strategize and execute paid cross-platform promotional activations
Work closely with UPL to capitalize on pre-existing corporate relationships with brands
Develop and manage online promotions with various digital properties including sweepstakes, giveaways, etc.
Negotiate deal terms with partners and secure letters of intent; work with Focus Features legal team to develop Partner contracts.
Manage and coordinate annual roadshows to present the film slate to licensing agents, promotional agencies, key licensees, retailers and promotional partners. Work closely with Universal Pictures team during key trade shows to coordinate efforts on key partner pitches
Oversee creation of sales materials to secure key partners/licensees. Must be familiar with all titles and capable of presenting materials
Align Theatrical, Home Entertainment, Licensing, Retail and Partnerships to optimize Focus Features theatrical slate Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years progressive Marketing experience
Strong relationships within the brand, promotions and retail community
A good track record in marketing/promotions roles at a senior and strategic level
Relevant qualification in marketing and/or related discipline
Comprehensive understanding of marketing, licensing media, publicity, promotions, and social media
Creative development and execution
Eligibility Requirements:
