We are currently seeking an IT Data Analyst to perform data analysis for data stores / marts in support of the Optum Local Care Delivery enterprise.  The new hire will define and maintain business intelligence/data warehouse methodologies, standards, and industry best practices.  You will work with ETL development and QA team to develop data warehouse solutions and to create Data Dictionary with full description of data elements and their usage.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in Data Governance activities and be responsible for data integrity
Create source-to-target mapping based on requirements
Create rules definitions and transformation logic
Gather and prepare analysis based on information from internal and external sources to evaluate and demonstrate program effectiveness and efficiency, and problem solving
Developing scalable reporting processes and querying data sources to conduct ad hoc analyses/detailed data profiling.
Research complex functional data/analytical issues
Gather business requirements for analytical applications in iterative/agile development model.
Assume responsibility for data integrity among various internal groups and/or between internal and external sources
Provides source system analysis
Recommendations for data store / mart design

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of data reporting and / or data analysis experience
3+ years of systems/business analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Data modeling and data architecture experience
Experience analyzing healthcare / claims data
Knowledge of ETL tools
Organizes sorts and filters data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends
Develops and maintains data preparation and validation routines to support data mining and has experience in creating complex data mining algorithms
Develops innovative approaches
Serves as a leader/ mentor
Experience with Agile development methodology
