Primary Accountability: The primary responsibility of the Inspector / Inspectress is to inspect and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and physical condition of all guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways and public areas, and to promote safety in all guest areas by following strict procedures with respect to pass key, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel’s standards and assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.

Major Duties:

• Maintain complete knowledge of safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

• Inspect guest check-out rooms for cleanliness, appropriate guest amenities and ensure correct working condition of all equipment in guest rooms

• Report substandard conditions to Executive Housekeeper and report damage or problems with rooms or equipment to Maintenance

• Maintain responsibility for pass key received

• Evaluate job performance of Room Attendants and provide additional training as needed

• Collect and log all lost and found items prior to securing in locked cabinet

• Prepare inspection reports with guest room status including guest requests, out of order rooms and show rooms for the day

• Understand proper maintenance and use of equipment

• Maintain and enforce knowledge of hotel’s standards, policies, and procedures

• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests

• Treat work area, tools used to complete the duties of the position and the entire facility with respect

• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred

• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

• Fluency in Spanish preferred

• Compute basic mathematical calculations

• Think clearly, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment

• Display strong attention to detail

Physical Demands:

• Requires constant standing or walking

• Occasionally requires climbing stairs, pushing/pulling racks with product weighing 5-100 pounds, and rarely could weigh up to 200 pounds

• Frequent crouching/stooping; reaching for, handling or grasping objects or supplies or lifting/carrying supplies weighing up to 50 pounds

• Sitting will be required rarely

• Safety requirements: Adhere to company, property and department safety standards and procedures. Safety shoes, proper guards, proper lifting techniques, all safety procedures must be followed

• Exposures: Slippery floors, noise and vibration
