Prairie St. John's, a 110 bed psychiatric care facility located in Fargo, North Dakota, has been providing services for children, adolescents and adults to address mental health issues, chemical dependency or addiction and co-occurring disorders since 1997. Prairie offers a full-service psychiatric and addiction Continuum of Care. This Continuum of Care includes inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, intensive outpatient services and clinic services. Prairie St. John's currently has a full time Psychiatric Technician position available. The candidates selected will be responsible for the following:
Assists in the observations, planning, interventions and evaluation of care to the assigned patients.
Assists with educational and activity groups in an effective and therapeutic manner.
Constantly monitors patient care areas for potential safety hazards and resolves issues appropriately.
This position will be scheduled 16 hours per week on the Overnight shift (11 pm - 7:30 am), including every other weekend.
This position requires an individual who has previous direct care experience of children and/or adults and/or is pursuing an educational degree in nursing, psychology, sociology, pre-med, social work, counseling or other behavioral science related majors. Incumbents must be C.N.A certified or register as a North Dakota Nurse Aid within 4 months of employment. The incumbent will use a computer to accomplish tasks on websites and in Microsoft Outlook, Word and other programs.
