The Department Supervisor is responsible for the overall activities of the assigned area; providing hands on leadership, ensuring all productivity, accuracy and safety objectives are met. This role is also responsible for maintaining overall accurate inventory records, through the coordination of periodic cycle counts and physical inventory management, researching and tracking overages, shortages, and damages, as well as receipts, returns, and shipping/receiving functions to ensure proper documentation. This person will also be responsible for the coordination of the daily activities of the IC staff. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize them in accordance with the challenges of a rapidly changing environment is essential.

Job Summary

* Coordinates the completion of all department quality and inventory audits according to established audit schedules and guidelines; coordinating daily cycle counts of various queries, divisions and random bins inspections.

* Assists in coordination and execution of "year-end" inventory process; works to maintain year round inventory accuracy.

* Conducts daily inventory analysis of warehouse reports to research and solve inventory problems.

* Reconciles the physical inventory variances and provide reports based on the reconciled inventory numbers.

* Assists department manager, ensuring the Distribution Center quality and inventory audit reports are completed accurately and on time; reviews reports and communicates results and recommendations to the management team and DC as necessary.

* Improve cycle count program to reduce errors in counts and increase focus on root cause of perpetual inaccuracies

* Ensures proper warehouse product profiling to promote successful outbound operations and customer order fulfillment.

* Monitors and reviews "trailers on lot" and DC priority receiving requests with department manager; collaborates on the development of plan of action options.

* Ensures salvage and claims process is properly executed; provides follow up as necessary.

* Ensures all policies and procedures are followed to minimize inventory shrink and risk, including but not limited to, inventory damages, inventory exceptions, claims and transfers.

* Working with management, creates measures and controls that ensure location quality and productivity goals are met.

* Supervises inventory control associates. Trains, evaluates, and develops hourly associates; administers performance management process for hourly associates in conjunction with the department manager as appropriate. Coaches and holds associates accountable for following company policies.

* Actively supports the development, implementation, and administration of operational policies and programs within functional area; identifies and resolves operational problems; recommends changes as appropriate.

* Maintains collaborative partnership with internal and external customers

* Keeps the Inventory Manager updated on current projects and problems

* Performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies by interacting with team members and other departments

* Manages a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations. Ensures adherence to proper safety regulations and policies/procedures.

* Establishes and maintains effective relationships with peers, team and senior management in order to communicate effectively and implement solutions.

* Other miscellaneous inventory/reporting duties identified by the Operations Manager and/or General Manager.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess:

* Bachelors Degree or equivalent

* 2 - 5 years of Supervisory experience in a Warehouse/Logistics environment; managing inventory in a high volume distribution center with a large number of SKUs.

* Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently/effectively

* Advanced computer literacy including database, spreadsheet, presentation, word processing, along with WMS experience and RF data collection.

* Strong communication skills: verbal, written

* Good knowledge of distribution center practices and procedures.

* Good leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.

* Ability to gather and interpret information, and develop, recommends, and implements solutions.

* May require occasional travel up to 5%.

* Flexibility to work variable shifts.
