Administrative: Provide administrative support to the Medical Staff Services Department and the Medical Staff Leadership.? Maintains ER Call Schedules, process medical staff dues, prepare, distribute and record Medical Staff ballots, maintain physician mailboxes; prepare and distribute notices to physicians and departments, including but not limited to announcements, ER call rosters, medical staff directory, out-of-town notices, change of address, temporary privileges and medical staff credentialing action following board meetings. ? Credentialing: Performs credentialing responsibilities in an expeditious manner to bring on new physicians and allied health professionals (practitioners), maintain current practitioner status and to report concerns about the hospital's liability with credentials issues.? Communicate well, both with team members, practitioners, all levels of hospital staff and multiple outside agencies (i.e. state, federal, insurance, etc.).? Processes requests for, and monitors duration of, temporary privileges in accordance with medical staff Bylaws.? Provides technical and administrative support to the credentials committee and the medical staff committees and informal (respectively) peer review activities and any other committee as required. ? Performs the recredentialing/privilege delineation activities in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws to assure that only qualified practitioners continue to provide care at Vista Health.? Maintains personal adherence to professional confidentiality standards ? Updates physician information in hospital information systems, respond to verification requests, and perform file audits ? Meetings Primary responsibility and role will to provide meeting support of medical staff meetings and special functions supported through the Medical Staff Services Department.? This includes, but is not limited to coordinating any arrangements for meeting rooms, catering requests, meeting notices, and equipment.? Composes agendas, minutes, and performs other follow-up as requested to ensure that information is appropriate, resolved or referred for further action. ? Facilitates assigned medical staff committees, ad hoc and special committee meetings. Consults with respective Committee Chairmen and hospital staff to achieve action-oriented outcomes assuring that problems identified are either acted upon or appropriately referred.? Demonstrates excellent communication and negotiation skills in preparation of agenda, participation in meetings, and follow-up actions. ? Responsible for quality control of the meeting books ? Credentialing Process - Maintain Credentials Files - Completes the Initial Credentialing Process for physicians, AHPs within state, federal, and JCAHO guidelines - Reappointment and Additional Privileges Processes - Processes requests for Leave of Absence, Resignation, Withdrawal of Privileges - Other Credentialing Responsibilities - Maintain Physician Information in Hospital Information Systems ? Meeting Process - Agenda, Minutes, Follow-up Correspondence creation - Annual Committee Assignments/Meeting Schedules - Other Committee meeting responsibilities ? Perform Administrative Duties - Maintain ER Call schedules - Prepare and track medical staff ballots - Prepare and distribute notices - Prepare and track medical staff dues - Assist with Special Department Projects - Telephone CoverageEducation Associates Degree or equivalent experience.????? ? Experience - A minimum of 5 years previous experience in an office environment supporting administrative functions; 3 years comprehensive credentialing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred. - Proficient with Microsoft Office products, database software and internet - Ability to accurately type 55 words per minute. Understanding of medical terminology, disease entities and treatment desired.
