Currently, Meijer is looking for a Maintenance Team Member. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for improving, maintaining, and repairing all equipment used in manufacturing, production and packaging functions. They will also be responsible to troubleshoot issues, repair production and facility equipment to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness by using a proactive continuous improvement methodology.
Key responsibilities include:
Detecting, documenting, reporting, and resolving simple and complex equipment issues
Reading and fully understanding mechanical and electrical schematics as well as suggest design improvements to systems with existing and new equipment
Providing expert ability in determining root cause for troubleshooting systems and processes
Supporting production, quality, and engineering in projects by providing expert resource support
Experience with Preventative Maintenance systems
Providing leadership, training and direction when necessary to other technicians or operators
Experience with aspects of ladder logic and computer controls, especially PLS's - including troubleshooting
Working with all industrial electrical voltages on a daily basis from fractional to 480
High School Diploma or GED
College degree in a technical field preferred
Certification in maintenance related skills
Minimum experience in a manufacturing environment of 5-10 years. Experience in a food or pharmaceutical company ideal
Organization and time management
Communicate effectively both verbally and written
Knowledge and experience with SQF, GMP's, LOTO, and Lean Manufacturing preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components, knowledge and skill with Preventative Maintenance programs
Ensure collaborative relationships with Meijer members and leaders
Proficiency in MS Office
Ability to support and work with engineering and outside vendors on projects, equipment design, layout or re-design
Must be able to give examples in interview of a focus on safety
Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
Experience with Ammonia/HVAC and refrigerant systems
Ability to set up and operate drill press, grinder, lathe, mill and basic machining equipment
Knowledge and skill of welding techniques, including oxygen-acetylene, MIG, TIG, fabrication, joining, and repair of varieties of metals including stainless steel for food grade applications, various production equipment, and structures
Ability to program and or write VFD's and PLC's
Knowledge and experience with CAD
