MST Field Services has theresponsibility for the installation, service, and support of MST ownedequipment in all Macy's Inc. sites, including registers, peripherals, printers,customer-facing in-store kiosks, and other critical devices. Field Servicesprovides project management services for Field projects, on-site systemintegration and hardware installation; partners with corporate, regional, and districtoperations teams to establish and manage business continuity and disaster recoveryplans; and operates our own board repair centers in Tampa, FL & LosAngeles, CA, and a system solution build/configuration/kitting site in Lorain,Ohio.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform intermediate level of daily diagnostic testing, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repairs to hardware and software of customer facing equipment either independently or with other teams.
  • Perform troubleshooting on network infrastructure including Switches, RF, LAN, Telephony, Ethernet and Fiber Support equipment hardware and software installations.
  • Provide information and guidance to vendors and store personnel in the proper support and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain register presentation and equipment room standards With minimal guidance, communicate effectively with MST Management, Stores and Team Members.
  • Respond to, follow up, and close all assigned problem tickets.
  • Travel independently in a defined region routinely, or travel nationally as business needs dictate.
  • Acquire and apply new knowledge and skills necessary to support POS, PC, RF, Communication and MST systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of MST assets.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Provide after hours and/or weekend or holiday support (unscheduled support), as business needs arise.
  • Respond to and/or be dispatched to support On Call including weekends and holidays (scheduled support).
  • Follow established procedures for time recording.
  • Complete administrative duties, includes but is not limited to: expense reporting, status reports.
  • Requires standing, bending and independently lifting up to 65 pounds.
  • Oversee MST cable standards to maintain integrity.
  • Re-terminate and or cross connect patch cables.




Skills Summary:
  • High School education and minimum two years experience in the repair of electronic equipment including POS, PC's etc.
  • Problem solving troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate within own group and with store personnel.
  • Strong customer focus. Sense of urgency and flexible to changing circumstances and customer needs.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in PC hardware and repair; Understanding and use of Windows Operating System, Windows Office products and Communications software.
  • Basic knowledge of Servers / switches.
  • Working knowledge of email systems (i.e.: Lotus Notes).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure cabling (LAN and Telephony).
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency Equipment and Protocols.
  • Ability to lead projects and provide status updates as required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of retail environment.
  • Knowledge of back office equipment.
  • Resourceful in troubleshooting or repair.
  • Organize computer room / work space / parts cabinet / information to enhance ability to increase productivity and decrease resolution time.
  • Ability to create and implement solutions / methods/ processes to solve issues in creative ways.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in PC hardware and repair; Understanding and use of Windows Operating System, Windows Office products and Communications software.
  • A+ Training recommended but not required.
  • Beginner knowledge of Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes or equivalent.
