About this job

Anchorage, Alaska -- Providence Alaska Medical Center is seeking an outstanding on-call Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. Join a team of NNPs who serve as liaisons between the nursing and medical staff at the medical center and the state's only children's hospital, The Children's Hospital at Providence (TCHAP). Excellent opportunity to manage patient care in the delivery room, on transport flights, and within the hospital in our 47-bed Level III NICU. TCHAP also has a 9-bed PICU capable of high acuity care, a 17-bed pediatric unit, a 5-chair pediatric infusion center, and a pediatric sub-specialty clinic including Peds GI and Peds Surgery. Our NNPs have the opportunity to receive training and to be involved in education, consultation and research.

With 401 beds and a medical staff of 600, Providence Alaska Medical Center is the most comprehensive tertiary facility in the state and the only one with a dedicated Children's Hospital. Providers enjoy broad cross-specialty support as well as flexible arrangements to meet individual needs. The campus is blessed with incredible mountain views and frequent wildlife sightings.

Alaska offers financial, cultural and recreational opportunities beyond compare. There is no state income or sales tax; in fact the state pays every Alaskan a yearly dividend from oil revenues! Anchorage, with 285,000 residents, is a modern American city surrounded by spectacular scenery and boundless outdoor recreation opportunities. Within the city limits are moose, bears, glaciers, hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, biking and skiing, a ski resort, golf courses, major dogsled race starts, and several peaks of the hugely popular Chugach Mountains. There are also shopping malls, world-class restaurants, brewpubs, two universities, a sports arena and a performing arts center. The combination of urban and wild is what makes Anchorage such a special place. Where else can you catch a salmon in the shadow of skyscrapers, or meet a moose on your way to the symphony?

Providence Alaska Medical Center is part of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and provider partners in Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
