With more than 170 physicians representing nearly 30 different medical specialties, Dreyer offers a full range of ancillary services within its facilities and the support of over 60 allied health professionals. Dreyer has 13 convenient sites located in Aurora, Batavia, Hinckley, North Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville, Plainfield and St. Charles.
Shift: Day Shift, Monday - Friday 8:30 am -5:00 pm, 0.6 FTE per pay period. Additional coverage for PTO may be required.
Cytologist (ASCP)
Bachelors degree or higher
3 years of experience in screening pap smears
Experience with and knowledge of personal computers
Ability to type with accuracy ~ 25 WPM
Good communication skills written and verbal
Good interpersonal skills
Detailed oriented
ASCP
Must be able to work independently and keep up with patient volumes to maintain adequate result turnaround times.
Responsible for full understanding and expertise in the area of cytology, including the ability to perform accessioning, staining and processing of both gynecological and non~gynecological specimens as well as the routine screening of gynecological specimens.
Accountabilities:
Ensures that specimens have been collected and processed appropriately and that corresponding paperwork is complete.
Maintains the cytology department according to CAP, OSHA and CLIA regulations and clinic policies.
