Ocean Operations Associate (Import/Export)- South Gate, CA

CA Local Supply Chain/Logistics Operations Ref.: DC-074050 The Ocean Operations Associate will be responsible for handling ocean export and/or import for a group of customers for our Customer Service Organization (CSO) and destination communication, problem solving, and customer cargo tracking.

Lead operational calls each week with the CSO and destinations in LAM, SEA and other Regional CSO's as needed Coordinate and provide input on solutions on destination issues which include free time, documentation discrepancies, and other challenges Provide detailed information back to team and DA of all active challenges and resolutions as competed. Tracking all shipments on a daily basis to the final destination. Provide accurate shipment detail through the tranship ports, and out-gating of containers at destination. Report back any shipments that require carrier attention or additional follow up Coordinate with destination contacts to ensure consignee are informed of any delays Advise DA of all highlighted delayed shipments Ensures all SOPs/IOPs are adhered to and any fall-outs are addressed on a priority

Who we are looking for Education and Experience

College degree preferred 2-4 years similar experience required

Technical Skills and Competencies Required

Excellent communication skills Excellent problem solving skills A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player. Strong and current knowledge of technology platforms, MS Office products, and ability to quickly adapt to new software
