A successful Research Analyst will have or be the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year university or college; 2+ years in media research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to be flexible in a changing sales environment
  • Detail oriented and have an eagerness to learn and grow. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of media math and media research methodologies preferred. 
  • Proficiency with research platforms such as Nielsen NPOWER, Rentrak TV Essentials, GfkMRI MEMRI preferred. Knowledge of Invision/DealMaker preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint and knowledge of mapping software e.g. ARC GIS a plus.

We are looking for people to join our Pricing and Inventory team which is responsible for the Media Sales strategy, research, and inventory management.   This is a Research Analyst position reporting into the Research Manager.  This position will support DISH’s Media Research in key areas including analytics and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data, providing timely updates of Media Sales’ marketing collateral and maintaining the stewardship system and rate card.  The analyst will assist Research and Pricing and Inventory teams in special projects as needed.

 

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Analyze TV viewing trends from Nielsen and STB data for standard reporting and fulfill ad-hoc requests for audience delivery.
  • Produce ongoing reporting such as quarterly rankers and monthly program rankers.
  • Work closely with Media Sales’ marketing to provide updates of all Media Sales’ core sales collateral including viewer profiles, competitive pay-tv and network profiles and cross-viewership.
  • Provide ad hoc research support utilizing consumer research to develop sales collateral, research education one-sheets, custom presentations.
  • Maintains Media Research Sharepoint site. Manage and maintain stewardship system and rate card(s) to monitor campaign performance with guaranteed delivery.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests for media spend by category, brand or advertiser and provide updates on the pay TV market and updates on emerging trends in the pay-tv industry from Nielsen, iSpot.tv, SNL Kagan, etal.
